Here at JJ Septic Service in LaFollette, Tennessee; we proudly serve commercial and residential septic services. We offer many different septic services including; septic tank inspections, pumping, repair, riser installations, locating, and grease trapping.
The process of pumping a septic tank involves using an exhauster truck that has suction pump hoses attached to it. The hoses are lowered into the septic tank opening to remove the scum and sludge that has accumulated. The truck removes all of the matter into the tank through the hosepipe before later disposing of the waste in an approved place. After pumping your septic tank, our expert team will then inspect your tank to look for any damages. They will then discuss with you what they found, and if there will need to be repairs.
It’s important to regularly get your septic tank pumped. Over time, solid materials tend to build up on the bottom, where a sludge layer is formed. The general rule is said to be that owners should have it pumped about once every two years.
There are different ways you can have a riser installed. It can be slightly above ground, completely level, or below ground. A riser is simply all about convenience. Having the riser above the ground means it’s exceptionally easy to access it, and there’s no digging at all. If it’s below the ground you will still be able to access it easily, and the grass will still be able to grow over the site. The plus side of having a riser installed is you will no longer have to pay for a professional to walk the property to find the tanks lid location.
There are many different materials risers can be made out of. The materials are PVC, polyethylene, and fiberglass. We recommend PVC since they are durable, strong, and lightweight. Concrete risers may be cheaper; however, they are very heavy and can crumble over time.
